What Is Functional Patterns?
How Do We Achieve Incredible Results With Chronic Pain Reduction, Scoliosis, Running Performance, Weight-loss, Muscle Gain and More?
Read about the Functional Patterns Method we use below.
What is Functional Patterns?
We all want to look good, feel great and move well. Unfortunately, there are so many barriers to climb and hurdles to jump on the path to a ‘great’ body, that many of us believe it is not even an option.
Not only does Functional Patterns completely demolish those barriers and hurdles through highly individualized movements; it gives you the opportunity to look, feel and move better than you even thought possible. No matter what state you are in, we guarantee that we can help you achieve anything you are willing to work for.
Functional Patterns is by no means a red pill to solve all of your problems. It is, however, the blueprint that makes the seemingly impossible: possible. It involves re-inventing the way your body moves on a fundamental level through a holistic program that is entirely specific to your needs as an individual.
Take a look at the results and testimonials of those who have taken the leap. You will notice that we do not just ‘manage back pain’ or ‘help people run better.’ At Functional Patterns Atlanta we completely transform people who were told they would never be able to get better. We turn athletes into world champions. We take what others might consider broken and piece it back together better than ever. That is Functional patterns.
Does Functional Patterns Actually Work?
Out of all the methods out there, Functional Patterns gets the most, the most diverse and the most mind blowing results.
If you look at any Functional Patterns website or social media page, you’ll find a disproportionate amount of one thing - RESULTS. Functional Patterns does not dazzle people with research papers, ‘promises,’ or fancy 28 day challenges. Functional Patterns has built its reputation on a growing pile of objective results. Our method is so foundational that it can help anybody with any condition who is willing to adopt the lifestyle changes and put in the hard work.

Where Did Functional Patterns Come From?
Functional Patterns was founded by the great mind, Naudi Aguilar.
Functional Patterns is about training organisms in relation to their biological characteristics.
Sound a bit complicated?
At a basic level it means whatever animal you choose to train, you do it with the foremost goal of optimizing its primary functions. Fish swim, birds fly, and dogs walk on four legs.
What do humans do?
According to the leading research on the primary movements humans did for locomotion and survival: standing, walking, running, and throwing were the four most important movements for human survival.
Our muscles and joints are designed to do these things above all else.
When you don’t train your body for these movements - pain and posture get worse and attaining fitness becomes more difficult.
On the contrary, when you DO train your body for these movements - you get less pain, better posture, and fitness that is easier to maintain over a lifetime.
When we combine what we know about human movement, evolution, and physics - we can begin to understand the potential that the human body really has. You are meant to enjoy a fine-tuned athletic and strong body that looks great well into old age.
Functional Patterns has gone through the rigorous process of taking these complex ideas and made a functional training program around them that anyone can do.

How Does Functional Patterns Work?
Here at Functional Patterns Atlanta we find time & time again that optimising these functions (breathing, walking, running & throwing) is paramount to improving every facet of health. We see improvements in conditions such as scoliosis, joint pain, fatigue, poor posture, bloating and often have clients losing weight, running faster, moving better & gaining muscle at all ages. No matter your body type, physical ability, or level of exercise experience, if you are a human then you will benefit from Functional Patterns.
‘From our perspective, a scientific definition of "functional" isn't arbitrary, it is biological. It comes down to a two step process: first, you define the organism; then, you identify their primary movement functions. Training to specifically enhance those foundational elements of an organism's movement is what defines functional training. It's really that simple.’ - Naudi Aguilar
